Kingaroy itself is situated some 220 Km north west of Brisbane by road and as the crow fly's some 180 Km from the Sunshine coast north of Brisbane.  The shire has a present population of some 13,000 people and as you can see, it is a agricultural centre for the rich farming country here abouts.

Here in the tranquillity of the gently rolling hills of the South Burnett area of South East Queensland, an age-old craft is being practiced acted out by farmers and wine makers. The climate here is well suited for the vines to grow and mature during the spring and summer while the frosty winters lend a vigour to the vine that results in wonderful Chardonnays and rich full bodied Cabernet varieties as well as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Chambourcin, Semillon .

Take a leisurely drive into the surrounding countryside and you are sure to find a road side sign directing you to a cellar door and the invitation to come and sample the wines on offer to the traveller
